Brooklyn Book Festival: How Not To Run A Reading Series

  • KGB Bar 85 East 4th Street New York, NY, 10003 United States (map)

Ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes of a reading series? Join Liars' League host Andrew Lloyd-Jones as he introduces curators from four of New York's most successful reading series for this special 2019 Brooklyn Book Festival Event: Suzanne Dottino of KGB’s long-running Sunday Night Fiction, Rachel Lyon of Ditmas Lit, Raquel Penzo of La Pluma y La Tinta, and Katie Rainey of Dead Rabbits.

Each one of these series brings something unique to their writers and audience - from publication opportunities to workshops, podcasts to prizes. You'll get to hear their experiences - good and bad - of setting up and running a readings series, and discover the opportunities they can offer and the difference they can make in the literary community.

We'll be at The Red Room above KGB for this special event - entry is completely free with a couple of drinks! We're delighted to say this is AN OFFICIAL 2019 BROOKLYN BOOK FESTIVAL EVENT, and we're just one of the many fantastic readings, panels, and performances during the week of 16-23rd September - find out more about what's happening at https://www.brooklynbookfestival.org!
